Roger Moore would have been the first to admit that he wasn't amongst the world's greatest actors - and frequently said so in his self-deprecating way - but he undoubtedly featured in a number of very enjoyable and successful films and TV shows. I'm old enough to remember Ivanhoe and he was probably my favourite Bond, playing him tongue-in-cheek much of the time.
His books and reminiscences of his Hollywood co-stars are also very readable. I've just downloaded the Kindle version of "Last Man Standing".
R.I.P. Roger

Wow Newcastle, you just reminded me of one of my childhood favourites
Altogether now "Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe, side by side we're proud to ride with Ivanhoe"

I may just of had my first girly crush on Roger Moore. Looking back now at the programmes he was in they are all so corny, but back then we didn't notice that.
