CAIRO – 6 February 2018: The Giza prosecution ordered the release of Russian belly dancer Eicatrina Andreeva, known as Gawhara, on LE 5,000 bail and was suspended from practicing dancing until all necessary procedures are completed.

The 31-year-old Russian was arrested early Tuesday and then referred to investigations over inciting debauchery and arousing sexual instincts of young people, as she appeared “semi-naked” in a viral, provocative dancing video.

Accompanied by a translator during her investigations, Gawhara added that she was wearing a dancing suit that is no different than those donned by many belly dancers in Egypt.

According to the Giza prosecution’s preliminary reports, Gawhara was also arrested over not having a work permit, to which she responded that she is fond of belly dancing and got to work at some night club in Giza for money.

The General Directorate of the Police of Tourism and Antiquities stated that Gawhara was wearing a non-standard dancing outfit and was featured in a viral video flaunting her body and pointing to private parts of her body in a racy manner, according to the findings of the preliminary investigations previously announced by the prosecution.

It's unclear what "procedures" they have in mind.

According to Egypt Independent, there seems to have been a more serious development yesterday :

Egypt’s National Security Agency issued an order to deport Russian belly dancer Eicatrina Andreeva, known by her stage-name ‘Gawhara’, after the agency considered her a threat to “Egyptian national security,” her lawyer Mohamed Saleh said on Wednesday.

It's hard to imagine how she posed a threat to national security. Concealing a weapon or bomb in her skimpy outfit would have been problematic.

Maybe they were concerned that young conscripts defending Sinai against insurgents would be glued to their iphones rather than scanning the desert for terrorists?

In the egyptindependent.com it states:
In a televised interview broadcast on the Dream channel, Saleh affirmed that the 31-year-old dancer was “committed to wearing the [outfit] determined by the ministry of tourism.”

Saleh added Andreeva is the only foreign belly dancer who holds a work permit in Egypt.

What a JOKE "threatening Egypt’s ‘national security’" soon you will be getting arrested if an Egyptian looks at you and gets turned on, which does not take much to do anyway. lol

:tk .. I wonder just how many times all those concerned with this anti terrorist maneuver have viewed the video. Did she receive intrusive body searches to ascertain if explosive devises were 'cunningly' concealed? Another fine example of an Egyptian media belly flop.

Surely the word Foreign is the big clue..... Egypt is not all that welcoming to foreigners, only their money. Perhaps they thought this woman was taking money from local belly dancers?

Apparently someone in high authority intervened and she's not being deported.

I think that you would have to be 'high' to want to watch a belly prancer.
