Not much hope regarding UK setdown

Well a few days of into the Abyss, or the UK as some may know it. tonight we set off on the way to Rekjavik Iceland, via LA (Luton Airport) The UK weather forecast does not look good because we have a 20 hour wait in Luton for the connecting flight, on Wednesday morning, we all know what the UK is like for coping with bad weather especially snow, even though they have known about it a week in advance, (PATHETIC) comes to mind. Just hope we can get away early hours on Wednesday morning because the last place anyone would wish to be stranded is the UK, with its lack of ability to cope in weather related lock downs.

Your luck seems to be running true to form, MT! Snow is forecast at Luton from tonight until Friday at least, with a weather warning for Tuesday!

The UK weather forecast does not look good. It is not because of Major Thom's travels via Luton Airport but is because of a severly cold weather front blowing in from Siberia.

Need I say more!

I understand London Luton Airport has been pretty much fully operational the last 48hrs so with any luck Major Thom has now arrived in, or is en route to Iceland. It would be a shame for him to be held in 'the Abyss', that some of us are happy to call home, longer than necessary.
Just hope if he had to kill time at Luton that he found somewhere to sit. It advertises as being open all the time but the truth is you can't go through to check in if you arrive too early in the morning. Not the best place to have to wait.

Actually Hepzibah I don't think many people care.

Maybe not. But it could all give him another topic to moan about.

As I've been on standby to go meet friends off a flight, I've had to keep my eye on the airport situation, otherwise I wouldn't have commented.

Very expensive place, taxi from airport to hotel £100, large pizza one beer one wine £47. But last night the lights danced for us in green and blue. Worth every penny.

Just looked out into the morning darkness and the lights are still dancing. At least the hotel internet is fast. Going for brekkie then out on the glaciers and gezzers tour for 8 hours. One thing for sure the roaming charges apply here not being in EU so only post from hotel ha ha. How tight us that.

It's a shame that your cup is always only half full.
One assumes that you have meandered through your life which seems to be full of pitfalls and woe.
An old London word is 'funking it, it you 'funk it correctly, it will work... 8)
Ps: Remember! the words of Brian upon the cross.
Pss: £47 quid for a pizza & a couple of drinks ? They saw you coming....

Maybe it would do some of you some good to get around a bit, seems the Eye of Horus is not working its protection. Apart from the prices the scenery is mind blowing a once in a lifetime trip. Looking forward to today. Dont worry I will not be posting pictures, I may post some old ones from the Fayruze and Blue Nile for you to drool over. Know what I mean?

Reminds me of Dorothy Parker when challenged to use the word "horticulture" in a sentence. Quick as a flash came her response :

" You can lead a horticulture, but you can't make it think."

You all seem to forget a point, MT now has total freedom of movement, no longer afraid to leave his fortress in this once lawless country he once called home.

Why would I want to? This is an Egyptian forum it's not about Iceland, Cyprus or trying to get a visa to visit Australia.
