Rachid Mighalla, a professional artist - conservator, teacher, 'the father of Karnak' - for me, still passed away...
You can see his work in the lobby of Karnak - the gorgeous wooden modell of the temple prectinct, in the Luxor museum - the talatat wall reconstruction, and i think he has many more, but i didn't saw them 'live', he just sent me the pictures about his plans and the first approaches... He also teached students in his last years.
I was always warm welcome in his old Karnak office and also in his papyrus shop at the corniche. People called him only 'Dr. Rachid...'
He took care about me like father about her daughter, during my egyptian pilgrimages.
I also have a miniature wooden model of Karnak in my room. It was his last present of him, when i visited Egypt also for last in 2010.
I will miss him...
R.I.P.
