ATM swallowed my card

In Cairo the other day, an ATM machine shamelessly swallowed my Visa card right in front of my eyes. A gentleman came running and with a big smile gave it back to me. I tried again and he repeated the trick.

Last time I saw my good old Visa card was at the very same machine, where I must have dropped it myself, so I was a little nervous and decided to find another ATM, but changed my mind and returned with a new card in my hand. People before and after me had no problems, so I was brave enough to try with my new Visa card. It disappeared like the first one.

The magician revealed his trick, and I hope that I am sharing common knowledge:

I pressed 0 and Cancel, which is the red button and out it came.

I tell everyone! Some Egyptians know the trick, but foreigners write it down: "0 Cancel."
