France Invades Egypt.

France Invades Egypt.
Here is some new mad and incoherent propaganda.
“700,000 French tourists visited Egypt during 2019” that is 2,000 a day with 5-10 inward flights each day and 5-10 outwards on average for every day of the year or three times that number of flights during the 4 month high season. That is 30 inward flights per day in the high season. 2019 isn’t finished so how they know this figure escapes me.
None of this stacks up with Air France flights and the French are reluctant to fly Egyptair until and unless the last killing is worked out in a way satisfactory to French Air Accident Inspectors (their final position is that it was the fault of the Egyptian cabin crew/an event relating to them in the area around the pilots whereas, and without evidence, Egypt wants a terrorist act/the fault of security at Charles de Gaulle).
I’d love to know how the French cope with the local food, wine and physical prudery. We know the UK government guidance to tourists visiting Egypt – what is the French?
With nearly a million French tourists Luxor must be like the Follies after dark.
Growth has been prodigious.
“the number of French tourists who headed to Egypt in 2018 increased by 146 percent” – how unexpected, wonder why. Why are the Military Public Information and Instruction Bureau jumping back to 2018 and not sticking to the made up 2019 figures?
The sources for these figures are Egyptian and should be judged accordingly.
Here is some more French/Egyptian wind for public acclamation and joy for Sisi’s genius.
“50,000 French companies were currently investing in the Egyptian market”.
Downtown Cairo must be teeming with French businessman and the hotels and brothels crammed. Employing 10 persons per ‘current investment’ - that’s half a million (local?) jobs supporting half a million families with a wife and three children – 2.5 million Egyptians supported in total – how big can it get. Bigger than the President-for-life.
There are also various foaming quotes from travel agents in the article which are about as reliable as asking a real estate agent for objective truth on a house sale. Oops, I trust real estate agents more than I trust all Egyptians in official positions and I’ve never trusted travel agents.

To call this a pack of lies misses the point - the story is sad and pathetic, a sign of desperation and poor grey matter/inability to manage propaganda effectively and plausibly.
On the other hand as everyone ‘knows’ its boom times again - bring back that Luxor blogger/’Egyptologist’/friend of Hawass/’real estate agent’/’property developer’/’publisher’ of the self-regarding Luxor Times to confirm it after years of sad or guilt-ridden silence from her.
Please prove me wrong with anecdotes of hundreds of French tourists arriving in Luxor each day during the now high season. 5 buses of French to the VOK each day. All the 4 and 5 star rooms (less than claimed by their mismanaged and exaggerating self interested owners) fully booked for 3 day stays and all boats now booked with 50 French on each.
At the least tell the Luxor governor to lobby for propaganda done by people who can read, write and count.
