A friend who is returning to the UK for the summer decided to have a few days in Hurghada before she flew to the UK.
She was staying at the Miramar Hotel where she had a fall and was consequently taken to and detained in hospital. She's an elderly lady (86) and due to her injuries unable to talk.
I have rung the Miramar and they confirmed that the lady had been taken to a nearby hospital they gave me the name of the hospital but when I rang they said she wasn't there.
Is there a consul in Hurghada that I could contact to ask for help.
I have just had another message from the lady saying there was a problem with the hospital can I get the hotel to ring them. Rang the hotel again and they seemed reluctant to help.
She has travel insurance and at least 5000le with her, plus cards, so money is not the problem. Anyone offer solutions or help.

My friend has now been released from hospital and is being well looked after by the hotel. Better late than never.
Many thanks to everyone for their help especially Newcastle and Haysham.
