I was contemplating an early night yesterday evening, there didnt seem to be much on the telly. Channel hopping , I found a film advertised on Dubai, and thought Id give it 5 mins to see if it was any good, but I didnt hold out much hope. It was a biopic about an American artist Id never heard of, Maud Lewis, but im the first to admit I know very little about art. Well I was hooked in the first 5 mins, the story of her life was absolutely fascinating. Its on again this afternoon on Dubai One - just give it 5 mins to start with but make sure youve got 2 hrs to spare.

Canadian rather than American.

I remember reading some article about this film...how Ethan Hawke replaced Sean Bean in a leading role. I think it won several awards.
