Re: Direct Flights from London to Luxor
Thank you for update. I have that declaration form which is easy to fill in but they do also require a covid free certificate test 72 hours before travel hence my enquiry. See egyptair site for details.i am not travelling yet next may actually just wondering when uk gov advice changes will egyptair keep these restrictions in place? Who knows I suppose. anyway we will just have to wait and see.

All foreigners arriving in Egypt, from Aug 15th, have to provide a COVID free PCR certiicate obtained within 72 hours of arrival.
There are exemptions for those in transit or direct arrivals to Red Sea resorts and Marsa Matrouh.
I doubt whether such restrictions will still be in force next May......but, as you say, who knows.

Re: Direct Flights from London to Luxor
Perhaps the authorities are gradually wakening up to the nonsense represented by the various steps they have taken so far.....and the obvious contradictions.
EGYPT’S HEALTH INSURANCE HOSPITALS TO TREAT EGYPTIAN AND FOREIGN CORONAVIRUS PATIENTS FREE-OF-CHARGE
Dr. Mohamed Dahi, president of the Public Authority for Health Insurance, has issued a decree (no. 501 of 2020, if you want to look it up) for all health insurance hospitals to treat Egyptian and foreign Coronavirus patients free-of-charge. In his statement, Dr. Dahi stressed that patients should not be charged any money given the current status of the virus and the toll it has taken on Egypt, and that the appropriate entities and authorities must implement the decision.
This would appear to make the requirement to have insurance redundant....at least as far as COVID-19 is concerned. What the term “health insurance hospital” means....I’m not sure
