I don’t see much sign of Chinese involvement ( other than that they have a vested interest in supporting Ethiopia) or much hope that the current impasse will be resolved anytime soon.
Biden has removed the US economic threat...so I expect Ethiopia to keep fiddling while Egypt becomes ever more frustrated that their belligerent threats to blow up the dam are quietly laughed at.
Insofar as they have any influence over Egypt and Sudan, neither US nor EU will want hostilities erupting in the region....and Ethiopia is banking on this.
For the past few weeks I have been waiting the immanent approach of a new water main.
It stretches from Gomolla to La Galta, straight down the middle of the road.

I knew instinctively something was not right.....
After a few years 'haggling I bought this derelict gaff, first thing was to put in a deeper Italian x 2. HP well motors and deep well.
So, I have noticed that the water company is cutting off supplies daily, for an average of 5 hours.
Now, it would have been nice to inform the local population prior, those with water tanks and wells...
