Don't ask why, I first became enraptured by Sherlock Holmes and the great Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
I know as much about them as I do about James Bond and Lt Cdr Ian Lancaster Fleming.
A Scotsman with impeccable mental and physical abilities and An Englishman from the ruling classes with an impeccable British Class education. (with all it's trimmings).
And the best Cdr James Bond CMG RNVR ever played was by a Scotsman..
( with whom I used to wait upon, as a 17 year old waiter )
I studied, Conan Doyle and his mental deduction abilities along with his desire for the meaning to life.
Whilst also becoming engrossed by the (unknighted )British upper class Naval Intelligence officer,
Ian Lancaster Fleming.
And his upper class british bred english type MI5 MI6 posh peoples that saves this country 24/7 secretly.
(and betray it)
I used to clean many of the Private Clubs' windows in St James' 'you listen a'lot whilst you work...
They (our ruling classes) love to talk quite loudly amongst their peers..
ignoring all the 'menial people...'like me:....
The point of all this is:
Whilst watching Sherlock Holmes on'telly just now,
thought that my library does not contain a copy of The Complete Sherlock Holmes.
So, 'Quick as a lick 'Amazon! hardback £16 quid arrives, in a couple of days.
Quite amazing, what will they think of next ? .....
Ps: Think of the fun one can have when they start using 'drones to deliver..
Ps: And now they have Amazon in Egypt, I cannot wait wait to return...
I once ordered 20 bags of peat through Souk.com delivered to a local hotel + bar,
it took 2 weeks to deliver but hey! they had a bar...no rush....
Pss: Note, 'My mate 'big-nose was also once in Naval Intelligence but, he lacked the breeding...it's an anomaly.
