Incredibly ambitious project which, when completed, will house all Cairo’s administration and a massive military complex dwarfing the Pentagon.
The finished city will contain the highest building in Africa...and there are plans for an even taller one - the Obilisco - which at 1 km in height, will be the tallest building in the World.

“New Cairo” is one of the largely residential satellite cities...about 25 Km from central Cairo
This Video is about the New Administrative Capital( NAC) ...which has yet to be given a name and lies in the desert about 45 Km east of Cairo.
It’s also unknown whether it’ll become the official capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt....rather like Brasilia is now the capital of Brazil, having replaced Rio de Janeiro. Likewise Canberra replaced Sydney in Australia.
Perhaps not....in view of the millennia old association of the name “Cairo” with Egypt. But as it houses the Presidential Palace and all the Administrative buildings, it might prove appropriate. No wonder they are yet to find a suitable name!
