I suffer from very dry hands and no amount of hand cream of any type makes them feel particularly comfortable, and I often get painful cuts in my fingertips because they are so dry. Ive tried all kinds of hand creams, none of which have worked till now. Browsing in the window of this particular shop one day, (as its relatively new and has such an attractive window display) the owner came to say hello and ask if I was looking for anything in particular. So I told him my problem, and he told me he had trained with the Bedouin and had lots of Bedouin recipes for specific problems. So he mixed me up a special potion in a pretty jar, and it smelt beautiful. (I thought at the very least my hands would smell lovely even if it didn’t work!) Anyway I didn’t have long to wait – it was like magic! From the first application my hands felt moisturised and it actually lasts all day, I only need the one application, and the cuts have healed very quickly. Its more expensive than ordinary hand cream – but it actually works where the others didn’t so money well spent in my case. Anyway this little boutique shop has the answer to quite a few health problems apparently, so I do recommend having a browse at least.
Walking up from the river the shop is in the main street of Gezira village on the corner opposite the fruit and veg shop.

Finding a moisturiser - be it for face, hands, feet, or just a general body one - that suits an individuals needs is quite an art. What suits one person and is recommended, doesn't neccessarily suit another. So to be able to have something made to your own requirements must be bliss.

When I was with the zanussi bedu out past dakhla they taught me loads of fascinating
useful and educational tips.
One of the many things I fell in love with was, their night time walking around socks, warm and made of course sheep/goat wool that never let the sand seep through. total bliss..
Tricks against scorpion bites, the stars, story telling, who had passed by 2 months previous, love of the desert,
and how not to sleep 'downwind of one's camels.
Cooking, don't even go there, canned five minute food, only good thing was their coffee.....
Ps: "opposed to popular thinking the bedu rarely ride their camels.
