What has happened to the flights from Heathrow to Luxor? They are on the egyptair timetable but when you go to book they are not there. They are still advertised on sites like skyscanner but not on egyptair website.
Does anyone know why?

Re: egyptair flights in November
Just heard from Egyptair that the flight to Luxor on Monday (19th) has been cancelled and that I will now fly via Cairo - not sure if it has anything to do with the Queen's funeral

Is the departure time very different?
I'm guessing there may be times when they have to keep airspace clear both at the airport and approaches, and possibly over London. I suppose with foreign royalty, dignitaries and VIPs flying in from all over the world Heathrow is going to be pretty busy Sunday and possibly early Monday morning, and again later in the day.

The original flight time for MS 762 to Luxor was 17.10 arriving Luxor at 23.30
Now MS 778 departing LHR at 17.10 (19 Sept) arriving Cairo at 23.05 and MS 270 departing Cairo 01.30 (20 Sept) arriving Luxor 02.30
From today's Guardian:
The full changes at London Heathrow on Monday:
11.40am-12.10pm: no take-offs or landings from Heathrow, around the two-minute silence at the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
1.45-2.20pm: no arrivals to support the procession of the Queen’s hearse.
3.05-4.45pm: no departures.
4.45-9pm: reduced departure rate during the service.

Ooooh, what a cock-up! I know one passenger (not a member on here) who will be absolutely livid at this.
I see that the first post below, under 'Similar Topics', was from dear old Bombay. I still miss his cheery greetings whenever I used to travel past him, plonked in his chair on St Joseph Street. Happy days!
