I once read his biography by his granddaughter Julie Hankey during filming..
This is the first book I've read written by Arthur, Who wrote over 20 books and as this
is the best book about Egypt I've ever read, I intend to read more.

Arrived this morning and only £21 quid, a bargain!
Arthur an excellent and sensitive wordsmith and in my opinion a literary artisan.

Highly recommended reading this Xmas for any child....or grownup.

Clementine was my Camel.... 8)

An amazingly fun book all about Arthurs' animals. Camel, Horse, Dog, Donkey and a cat called 'basta'
Not including his ducks, chickens and pigeons..quite a menagerie..'get it for Xmas!

He really was an amazing writer.
I now start on his Weights & Balances 1908.

Whilst doing a bit of research I found a picture of where I grew up, now "The John Wernham College of Classical Osteopathy, in Tonbridge Road, since 1996"

It's stunning what the internet can provide and quite stunning to the old memory banks.
After my Dad died me and my mates lived there starting my 1st company 'Adonis Zenana Ltd'
That's Greek for 'bachelors lovenest.

I sold it to John Wernham when I was 19 for £ 20 grand, 'let the fun begin...

It's the second entrance on the left, John really hated me "that annoying little b*st*rd next door"

Who could blame him ?.......'not me said the eskimo.... 8)

And made into a film..

He certainly was an amazing writer...

Turns out it's other title The Dweller in the Desert, An Amazon printed copy.

I gave Sim, Laura was my Donkey..
She said "Laura was the name of your secretary"!

"We went drinking yesterday, in the stupidly renamed
Holy Tavern...perhaps it was anti-semitic..being The Jerusalem Tavern...mind you
they still sell St Peter's Brewery ales....

A plus in anybody's book... 8)

Ps: The name change was probably down to 'debts accrued' methinks!

Turns out it is a love story.
Burning passions around an Oasis.

I must admit, I think it is the 1st love story I have ever read... 8)
