DUTY FREE AT LUXOR AIRPORT

Travelled from UK yesterday and went to the duty free shop at Luxor Airport.

There is now a new Government rule regarding the purchase of alcohol.

You can now purchase two bottles.

However, in addition to the price of the bottle you now have to pay $13 (or equivalent in LE) per bottle Government Tax in cash. The tax has to be paid in Cash!

But does it show up on your receipt? That is the question!
I well remember going into the Duty Free shop behind the Emilio Hotel, years ago. They used to change the position of the price labels according to where the last international flight had come from.
e.g. If it had been England, the dearest spirit would be gin; if from behind the Iron Curtain, vodka.

No wonder with the LE doing so badly, they want all the foreign exchange they can get their paws on.
