I am returning on Monday to Luxor after my summer break in UK and want to know if there have been any further changes in the Duty Free rules at the Luxor Airport Duty Free Shop
The last time I was at the Duty Free shop the rule relating to Alcohol was one bottle only and that you also had to pay a customs tax of $ in cash
Can anyone tell me if there have been any changes?

Re: Duty Free Luxor Airport
I was at the Duty Free shop at Luxor Airport on Monday. I was allowed to purchase 2 bottles of alcohol and 2 cartons of cigarettes for which I had to pay cash because the credit/debit card machine was not working. In addition I had to pay a Government Tax on the alcohol in cash (I think it was $15) this Tax had to be paid separately and only in cash.

I think the term Duty Free is a thing of the past. I no longer smoke, but a week ago I bought a packet of 20 LM 100's they were €3.80. But tongue in cheek they were not harmful fakes....ha ha

Re: Duty Free Luxor Airport
The Duty Free shop behind the Emilio Hotel was the biggest con of all. The most expensive bottles of alcohol used to change every day, depending on which country's tourists were arriving. One day, the Vodka would be $18 whilst the Scotch Whiskey would be $12. Then maybe the following day, it would be the Scotch which was $18 and the Vodka was down to $12! They were a law unto themselves.
