Luxor4u

At the beginning of this month I found that I was unable to access the Luxor4u forum. Kept getting message error404. Got in touch with Keefy who was aware of the problem and told me it would hopefully be sorted soon which it was.
At long last Chris has sent in a post about his experience with the Last flight from Luxor to Heathrow with EgyptAir.
Now I find I have lost the ability to send a like. Not being a technophobe I am left wondering is it me or my computer.
At least Chris has come back to similar weather to Luxor with the sunshine the UK is having right now and I hope all Luxor4u forum members in the UK are enjoying it.

Agreed I can’t hit the ‘like’ button either. Hopefully it will be sorted out in due course.

I was first introduced to kippers when I went to live on the isle of man back in 1980.
Manx kippers are probably the best in the world, and when I go back on many of our frequent visits, they are still available.

Fish that Reeks of nostalgia for me.

It was a great place to live back in those times, but it was a place that was loosing its tourist attraction due to the cost of getting there and the cheap flights to countries with guaranteed sunshine.
Many hotels caught fire in mysterious circumstances, and usually got demolished.
One owner had fortunately taken his resident parrot out with him for the day for a car ride on the day his hotel burned down.

These hotels got converted into apartments or residential homes for the elderly.
Our old hotel ended up being knocked down and was a car park for a long time. Now it's been rebuilt into exclusive flats for the well heeled elderly coffin dodgers.

Now it's a business island, but still holds fond memories for me, and a place where dreams did indeed come true.

We sail on the Manannan from Liverpool, and can be there in just over 2 hours.
In the old days, it was a long haul, on board slow boats taking over 4 hours.

We usually go over there 2 times a year, and to be honest, we could visit Morocco or Tunisia for a week each time for less money, but we both love visiting the island.

A good Manx breakfast, Kippers and Bacon, an unusual mix, but tasty.

A good Scottish breakfast includes Abroath smokies fresh from the kiln.

And a good Egyptian breakfast is a bowl of steaming fuul, sold either from a street cart or served up in an Egyptian's home, preferably served with a chunk of sunbread. Even better if followed an hour or so later with a newspaper twist of falafel bought from the stall on the West Bank Tuesday market.
