Re: Sheherazade!
Brilliant Italian night just went for the beer, music and company.
The Trio's sound was totally unique Gohar the drummer, Shady the guitarist and Axel on keyboards made a sound I have never encountered before, I think I was at one of those rare musical phenomena performances.
The hotel looked amazing, as I was one of their first guests way way back, brilliant night and good fun….

Re: Sheherazade!
A quick reply to my inquiry brings forth this:…
Fantastic that you enjoyed it. The band's called Malakoot and the style of music is North African -ish. We kind of crossed the rhythms and songs of assouf and rai, traditional Bedouin music, and then added our own feelings and spiritual slant and ended up with the sound. Great fun to play and very trancey. We've already got quite a following on soundcloud

Re: Sheherazade!
I wait for this post to be deleted, as mine was earlier this week which referred to a Jazz and Blues evening at the same venue 2 days ago. If "management" are going to delete posts they might at least have the decency to let the poster know!Who2 wrote:Malakoot are back at the same place this wednesday, they are totally brill 'sort of North African fusion, not your normal 'cat-killing screech band they call music round here… which I never attend because I appreciate music to much and also quite like cats….

It would be interesting to know why it was nuked, seems to be a harmless and innocuous post to me, but then again I did not see the exact wording.Brian Yare wrote:I wait for this post to be deleted, as mine was earlier this week which referred to a Jazz and Blues evening at the same venue 2 days ago. Re: Sheherazade!
Iv'e nearly paid my penance for today, Went over to the dark side with 6 x sandwich loaves and 26 Beefburger rolls and 6 fresh baked croissants for my mates because I thought today was yesterday, Mind you it's dead easy to tell it's a thursday on the 'dark side.
Total madness, police, tourists, taxis, caleshes every ATM 20 locals and 6 not working, It always amazes me about egyptians and ATM's and bank accounts ?
And don't you half run into people you've known for years, utter chaos, plus the 'nutters are digging up the front of Karnak, (again)
I nearly stopped to purchase a load of historically top quality used tiles off the chaps, doing the digging up, why ? one wonders ? any purpose known to man ?
Anyhow that's why I hate Luxor especially on a Thursday mind you B&Q was nice and quiet and got all I needed, even a new claw hammer Chinese of course, the last one's head flew off and nearly killed the cat, Cinese'sh**….
Ps: NB: So still no incoming calls Vodaphone (sh**phone) queues down medina street Went shopping opposite to Ragabs' came back still a queue.
"If the phone don't ring ? it's who ?
