Once upon a time......
I used to be a fighter......
My 2 sensei were Bobby Bream & Geoff Britton, both nutters, the club was back of the Eagle in kill copper alley off City rd.
Right load of nutters in the club, we never lost a inter-club contest, we had kid's working for the krays training, record producers, all sorts, that year Britain won the Karate World Championships. {and I believe the record 'kung fu fighting was released}
Anyhow enough, I knew Geoff through my RN diving buddy John Taylor Ward both from Lee Green, Lewisham, Geoff was a fanatic at everything, motorbikes,american cars, dogs,films,karate,drumming.He had been in loads of bands and could play the drums whilst standing and balancing on the kit.
Anyhow he copped the job working with Macca & Wings as drummer, whilst we lived and had a salvage company in Rye near to Macca's gaff 'Paulditz in Peasmarsh.
Anyhow, we were dreaming up a very good scam involving Macca, whilst Wings went off to Tennessee to record Juniors Farm, Geoff was into many things and wanted to meet the hillbilly's that lived on a mountain on Curly Putnams' few thousand acre farm.
"No way came the answer. They called in the local sheriff he repeated no-way not even for the Beatles, a film crew a few months before had ignored the sheriffs advice went up the mountain, they shot the director dead. No charges.
"They are a world to themselves.
Geoff was disillusioned with Wings 'getting his leg over Linda and saying they where all 'smack-heads and left.
He returned to Blighty and the Camber Sands Crew with a 'speed problem and the Tennessee public prosecutor who had changed sides, and now was the public defender and a right smoking, speed taking full contact karate freak, really lovely guy.
